Rescue – Cayton – 3rd June, 16:32 – 28/2023
Called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist a crew with the evacuation of a seventy year old female who had sustained a lower leg injury on farm land south of Cayton.
The crew had administered pain relief and splinted the injured leg but requested our assistance to carry the patient over two fields back to the ambulance. This involved negotiating electric fences, a number of inquisitive horses including a ‘frisky’ stallion.
Once safely back at the roadside the patient was transferred to the ambulance for transportation to definitive medical care.
We wish the lady a speedy recovery.
Eighteen team members deployed for two and a half hours.
