Rescue – Mallyan Spout – 14th July, 17:41 – 38/2022
Called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to reports of a 60 year old male who had sustained a lower leg injury on the footpath through the boulder field at the base of the Mallyan Spout waterfall. An ambulance service crew was being deployed but our assistance was required to locate and evacuate the patient.
After initial assessment the gentleman was transferred to one of our stretchers and carried, by team members, some 700 metres along the side of the stream and up the steep path to the roadside and waiting ambulance for transportation to definitive medical care.
We had fifteen team members and two team vehicles deployed for three hours.
