Rescue – Rawcliff Road – 28th November, 06:58 (116/2021)
The team were called by North Yorkshire Police during Storm Arwen to go to the assistance of the occupants of a vehicle that had become stuck on black ice and snow in a rural location. A recovery truck had managed to get the vehicle onboard but had then become stuck itself. Team members used roadside grit heaps to treat the steepest part of the bank and then managed to tow the recovery truck to the top of the hill using a team landrover fitted with snow chains. The recovery truck was then able to continue unaided. Six team members and two team members deployed for four hours.
