Rescue – Maybecks – 23 October, 15:26 (105/2021)
Called by both Yorkshire Ambulance Service and North Yorkshire Police to reports of a gentleman with a lower leg injury on one of the woodland paths above Maybecks. We attended with a crew from the ambulance service. After administering pain relief and splinting by the crew we carried the gentleman through the woods into open fields. Once in open ground and as we were preparing to attach the wheel to the stretcher for a significant carry across a number of fields a local farmer arrived with an all terrain vehicle which significantly simplified the remaining carry out. The gentleman was subsequently transfer to the ambulance for transportation to definitive medical care. We would like to thank all the members of the public who stopped to help, raised the alarm and guided us into the location and to the farmer for the drive out.
