Rescue – Mallyan Spout, Goathland – 22nd August 13:26 (78/2021)
Multiagency incident called by North Yorkshire Police involving the police, ourselves, North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Yorkshire Ambulance Service to reports of a teenage male suffering from a suspect dislocated knee after foot entrapment in West Beck at the foot of the Mallyan Spout waterfall. Initial report suggested that while the water was not deep rescue by those on scene had failed due to the rocks being too slippery and that the youth was still trapped. Upon arrival our first team members on scene determined that he had managed to extract himself and his knee had appeared to have gone back into alignment. The group had made their way half way back up the track to the village so it turned out to be a simple escort up the rest of the track to a waiting ambulance for further assessment of the injury. Fifteen team members deployed for an hour and a half.
