Rescue – Mallyan Spout – 30th May 11:23 (40/2021)
While deployed on incident 39/2021 the team received a second call from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to attend a patient with an ankle injury close to the base of Mallyan Spout waterfall. A second team vehicle was deployed from base and team members not already at Givendale Head were diverted to Goathland.
The patient was treated on scene by the team before been carried from the valley bottom up to the village in one of our stretchers before being transferred to hospital by Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
While walking to scene team members met a lady suffering from a pre existing asthma condition, we walked her slowly back to the village by which time her breathing had returned to normal.
Fifteen team members deployed for two hours.
